Collaboration is key to achieving the European Union’s (EU) ambitious environmental and climate goals. atma.io by Avery Dennison fully embraces this principle, which is why we are proud to announce our participation in SAGE — an innovative EU project dedicated to leveraging Digital Product Passport (DPP) data to enhance product traceability and recycling processes.

Launched in Warsaw, Poland, in March 2025, the consortium will establish a fully operational Green Deal Data Space (GDDS) aimed at enhancing the accessibility, integration, and utilization of green and environmental data across the EU.
Within SAGE, atma.io is working with a range of partners to embed secure data exchange for circular textiles within the GDDS. The goal is to make policy monitoring more efficient. This will enable circular business models — essential to the future of fashion — to operate sustainably and profitably.
More specifically, objectives include reviewing circular textile data flows and priorities with external advisors such as Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs), statistics bureaus, and solution providers. CIRPASS-2, an Innovation Action project funded by the European Commission’s Digital Europe Programme, has established a strong foundation by defining common standards for DPPs and ensuring interoperability across industries. Our work at SAGE builds directly on this foundation, bringing these standards into practice through real-world adoption and seamless system integration. By aligning with CIRPASS-2 and leveraging data space principles, we ensure that textile data can flow effortlessly — bridging the gap between standardization and scalable, cost-effective implementation. As a connected product cloud, the role of atma.io is integral in collecting the DPP data attributes and demonstrating how it can be used to improve sorting, recycling, and circular economy practices, ultimately contributing to the ESPR legislation introduced by the EU.
